چکیده

Abstract Background Root rot pathogens reported to cause considerable losses in both the quality and productivity of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) pea Pisum sativum L.). It is an aggressive crop disease with detriment economic influence caused by Fusarium solani Rhizoctonia among other soil-borne fungal pathogens. Destructive plant diseases such as root have been managed last decades using synthetic pesticides. Main body Seeking economical eco-friendly alternatives combat that significant yield urgently needed. Trichoderma emerged promising antagonist inhibits including those inducing disease. Detailed studies for managing different species T. harzianum , hamatum viride koningii asperellum atroviridae lignorum virens longibrachiatum cerinum album ) were vitro vivo promotion growth induction systemic defense. The wide scale application selected metabolites produced spp. induce host resistance and/or promote yield, may represent a powerful tool implementation integrated pest management strategies. Conclusions Biological rot-inducing various fungus might taken place during recent years. their secondary are useful development protection against bestow high-yielding crops.

Control of Wilt and Root Rot Incidence in Phaseolus Vulgaris L. by Some Plant Volatile Compounds

Essential oils from four plants, i.e. geranium, rosa, lemon and mint were tested for their activity in vitro and in vivo against Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli, the cause of root rot and wilt of beans. In vitro, they were found to have an inhibitory effect against the mycelial growth of R. solani and F. oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli. Complete inhibition in fungal growth w...

Biological Control of Alternaria Fruit Rot of Chili by Trichoderma Species under Field Conditions

Trichoderma strains were evaluated under field conditions to assay their efficacy in suppressing Alternaria fruit rot disease and promoting chili plant growth. The experiment was conducted at the Botanical Garden, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh from July 2006 to March 2007. Application of Trichoderma harzianum IMI 392432 significantly (p = 0.05) suppressed the disease compared to Alternaria te...

The activity and isozymic composition of superoxide dismutase (SOD; EC 1.15.1.1) were determined in nodules of Phaseolus vulgaris L., Pisum sativum L., and Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp. formed by Rhizobium phaseoll 3622, R. Ieguminosarum 3855, and Bradyrhizobium sp. BR7301, respectively. A Mn-SOD was present in Rhizobium and two in Bradyrhizobium and bacteroids.
